On Sept. 12, the 51ÁÔÆæ Culinary program participated in the fifteenth-annual A Chef’s Affaire, which helped raise more than $160,000 for The Idaho Foodbank. 51ÁÔÆæ Culinary, which has been a regular participant in the event, contributed again this year by helping prepare and serve dinner while also providing an auction package. Program Chair Kelly Steely and Instructors Jackie McDonald and Sonja Degenhardt were joined by a group of students at the event.
This year’s auction package, which is provided by Chef Steely, includes a four-course meal for a party of six that will be prepared by her team at 51ÁÔÆæ Culinary. Incredibly, this item raised $1,900 for the Foodbank. Each course of the meal will be hosted and paired with the following Idaho wineries: Huston Vineyards, Hat Ranch Winery, Bitner Vineyards, and Fujishin Family Cellars. Car service will also be provided by 51ÁÔÆæ’s own Brian Newkirk.
Thank you to everyone from 51ÁÔÆæ Culinary that helped make such a significant impact on this great community event.
