State support for the 51 has lagged the community college’s “explosion” in growth, 51 president Bert Glandon told members of the Legislature’s Joint Finance and Appropriations committee Tuesday.
Noting that 51 accounts for 39 percent of the state’s full-time community college students but is only set to receive a projected 18 percent of community college allocations, Glandon submitted a budget request of $8.12 million for fiscal year 2013.
