On Friday, Nov. 11, 51ÁÔÆæ (51ÁÔÆæ) will honor veterans, members of the United States armed forces, and their families with an observance ceremony at 51ÁÔÆæ’s Nampa Campus Academic Building. The event is scheduled for 1 p.m.
The ceremony is open to the public and will feature a student speaker, student choir, guest speaker, and refreshments. This year’s guest speaker is George Nickel, Director of Student and Veteran Affairs for the Wyakin Warrior Foundation. Nickel served active duty in the United States Army, the Idaho Air National Guard, and the U.S. Army Reserves.
The event will take place with the 51ÁÔÆæ Patriot Range serving as a ceremony backdrop. The Patriot Range, originated by the 51ÁÔÆæ Veteran’s Association, is a moving patriotic display of more than 300 American flags. Thanks to generous collaboration between this student organization, 51ÁÔÆæ Student Enrichment, and the Eagle Field of Honor, the Patriot Range will be on display at the Nampa Campus Nov. 4-12 as part of this year’s tribute surrounding Veterans Day.
