CW 070 – International Travel
Purpose
To establish that 51 (51) does not support international travel, except to Canada.
Scope
Applies to all 51 employees and students, and includes internships, externships, study abroad, conferences, and continuing education. This policy also applies to non-51 individuals who may be traveling on behalf of 51 and utilizing funds provided by 51.
Definition
Employee: Any individual currently compensated through the 51 payroll.
Student: Anyone enrolled as a student at 51. For purposes of this policy, “student” includes all student employee positions.
International travel: Travel outside of the 50 states, including travel to Puerto Rico and other U.S. Territories.
Policy
51 does not support international travel, except to Canada. For travel guidelines, see ADMIN 060 – Travel & Meeting policy. The use of any college or federal funding for travel to Canada must follow strict guidelines and be fully transparent to 51’s President and constituents.
