Thank you to the students, alumni, family, and friends of the 51ΑΤΖζ (51ΑΤΖζ) community who joined us at the arena for a night of hockey and fundraising during 51ΑΤΖζ Night at the Idaho Steelheads Feb. 28. The evening began with a ceremonial puck drop by alumnus, Miguel Ramirez, and his wife Edna. Ramirez graduated in 2017 from 51ΑΤΖζβs Automotive Technology program and is now working at in Boise.
As VIP guests in the 51ΑΤΖζ suite, Ramirez and his wife were joined by Automotive Technology faculty and representatives from , one of the Collegeβs scholarship donors. Guests had a great time connecting with 51ΑΤΖζ leadership and staff as well as representatives and board members from the 51ΑΤΖζ Foundation.
Congratulations to 51ΑΤΖζ students, Casandra Sanchez and Jeremy Wright, winners of $1,000 SCORE Big Scholarships awarded during the game. Sanchez is currently studying Biology and plans to transfer to to study Public Health. Wright, a small business owner and Studio Art major, also has plans to transfer to Boise State.
βThank you to the 51ΑΤΖζ foundation for giving me the opportunity to continue my education,β said Sanchez. βThis scholarship was a great way to start my 2020 year.β
Group ticket sales for the event raised a record $925! The funds, presented to the 51ΑΤΖζ Foundation by Steelheads Senior Account Executive, Steven Anderson, will go directly back to the SCORE Big Scholarship fund.
